Group of Jewish children threatened with antisemitic insults in Nice

A group of Jewish schoolchildren wearing kippahs were targeted with antisemitic insults by two individuals whose whereabouts have since become unknown. The incident occurred near Mozart Square in Nice, a few hundred meters from the Kerem Menahem Jewish school where the children are enrolled.

A security guard was escorting them between the cafeteria and the school when the two men issued threats and insults. The guard intervened and was struck, including with a glass bottle to the eyebrow area. The police were quickly alerted, but by the time an officer arrived on the scene, the two suspects had already fled. An investigation has been opened by the Nice public prosecutor’s office. The security guard has also filed a complaint.

Nice Mayor Christian Estrosi was the first to condemn the incident, assuring on X (formerly Twitter) that “our supervision center agents are mobilized to find the perpetrators.”
