French far-right National Front withdraws candidate from parliamentary contest after antisemitic tweets

France’s far-right National Front party has withdrawn a candidate from legislative elections in the western Loire-Atlantique region after the candidate was found to have made a series of anti-Jewish and anti-Muslim tweets in 2014 and 2015.

Samuel Potier, already a regional councillor and head of the National Front list for the parliamentary elections in Loire-Atlantique, was withdrawn, a local party official said.
