Four Jews attacked in Nice

Four Jewish youths were attacked in the French city of Nice by a group of five people after one of them was identified wearing a Star of David around his neck.

Nice Mayor Christian Estrosi strongly condemned the attack in a statement issued by the City Council.“

I condemn this intolerable antisemitic attack on four youths in the centre of the city tonight,” Estrosi also tweeted. “The violence and the cowardice of such acts should in no case be trivialised or left unpunished. I expect the courts to apply the greatest severity in regard to the attackers.”

Four of the suspected attackers were being held in police custody.
