A 51-year-old teacher was sentenced by the Perpignan Criminal Court to eight months in prison for having published antisemitic remarks online between November 2023 and January 2025, as a repeat offender.
Using the pseudonym “Claire Hitler”, the teacher notably wrote “I hate Jews” and “Hitler was right”.
Tried for incitement to violence and hatred, and denial of crimes against humanity, she will serve her sentence under electronic monitoring.
She had already been convicted for similar acts in 2023, receiving a four-month suspended sentence and a €4,000 fine, and again in 2024, receiving a six-month suspended sentence.
She showed no sign of remorse during the hearing.
The defendant was also ordered to pay 120 day-fines of €10 each and to pay €2,000 in damages to each of the three civil party associations for moral harm.
