Attackers of Jewish couple on Paris suburb in 2014 to be charged with antisemitism

A French judge is to try five men with antisemitic motivation during a vicious attack on a Jewish couple in the Paris suburb of Créteil in 2014.

On December 1, 2014, the couple was an attacked in a Créteil flat and the woman raped. The flat was burgled by attackers armed with a sawn-off shotgun.

The attack led the then French government to launch the combat against racism and antisemitism as “a national campaign”.

During the attack, the attackers made numerous references to Jews and money, although during the original trial, the antisemitic link to the crimes was withdrawn.
