Antisemitic tags sprayed over storefronts in Paris

Antisemitic tags were found on storefronts in the 9th arrondissement of Paris, according to the Union of Jewish Students of France (UEJF).

“The whole neighbourhood is covered in Stars of David, the word ‘Jude’ and the phrase ‘I am a racist’ in large white letters,” the organisation said in a tweet.

The student organisation contacted the authorities. “We demand that the safety of local residents be ensured and that the perpetrators be found and convicted. It would be unacceptable for antisemitism to be displayed freely and with impunity in the public space,” it continued in a series of tweets.

Jean-Baptiste Gardes, deputy mayor of the 9th arrondissement, said that he had been informed of the tags by residents and had asked the cleanliness services to remove them.
