Antisemitic graffiti scrawled at home of mother of Merah victims

The home of Latifa Ibn Ziaten, mother of one of the victims of Mohamed Merah, who also killed children and a teacher at a Jewish school in Toulouse in 2012, was marked with threats and antisemitic graffiti.

The graffiti included the following comments: “Long Live Merah”, “Jew soon to be dead”, and “Soon it will be you”.

Ibn Ziaten is a known figure in the battle against Islamist radicalisation. She has filed a police complaint.

The mother of the French soldier Imad Ibn Ziaten, the first person killed by Mohammed Merah, who later killed two other soldiers and then three children and a teacher in the Ozar Hatorah Jewish school in Toulouse in March 2012, Latifa Ibn Ziaten is a well-known figure in the fight against Islamist radicalisation.

In a tweet, she wrote: “In memory of my son Imad, I will continue the fight. I will reamin in order to transmit all the values which he held, of respect and tolerance. Fighting against violence is a duty. For youth and for peace, for our future, let us unite our voices.”
