14-year-old Jewish girl assaulted and threatened with death in Sarcelles

A 14-year-old Jewish girl was violently assaulted in Sarcelles (Val-d’Oise) by three other youths, in an attack marked by antisemitic remarks.

Two of the attackers were arrested later that evening, according to police sources.

The incident occurred around 6:30 pm. The girl was approached by three adolescents who asked her why she was not observing Ramadan. After she replied that she was Jewish, she was targeted by the three youths.

According to police reports, the attackers insulted her, calling her a “dirty Jew”, and also threatened her life, saying: “On the Koran, I’m going to kill you.”

The assault went beyond verbal abuse. The adolescents also physically attacked the girl, striking her, particularly in the face. She was attended to by emergency services and taken to hospital, where she was reported to be in shock.

Later in the evening, two of the suspects, both aged 12, were apprehended by the authorities. Investigations are ongoing to determine the exact circumstances of the assault and to identify the third individual involved.
