The Estonian Jewish Museum (Eesti Juudi Muuseum) has unveiled “Juudi Tallinn”, the first folding map dedicated to showcasing Jewish heritage in and around Estonia’s capital. This landmark publication features 55 sites of historical and cultural significance to the Jewish community.
The carefully curated map includes synagogues, cemeteries, schools, community organisations, businesses, and Holocaust memorials. It offers both locals and visitors a deeper understanding of Tallinn’s rich Jewish past and its enduring legacy.
Beyond the city centre, the map also highlights important Jewish sites in Klooga and Harku, as well as providing an illustrated overview of Viru Street, once known as Tallinn’s pre-war Jewish shopping boulevard.
Each site is accompanied by a QR code that links to further details via the Estonian Jewish Museum’s website:
- In Estonian: museum.jewish.ee/museum/voldikmap-jewish-tallinn
- In English: museum.jewish.ee/en/homepage/visit/jewish-tallinn
The map was developed by the Estonian Jewish Museum with the generous support of Tallinn Central Government and private donations. The project was guided by consultant Josef Kats, with design and printing carried out by Regio OÜ.
Available in both Estonian and English, the map is being offered to museum supporters in exchange for a donation. It serves as both a historical guide and a tribute to the resilience and contributions of Estonia’s Jewish community.
