Ceremony marks 80 years since the raid at Gatti de Gamond Boarding School

In commemoration of the 80th anniversary, a ceremony was organised in Brussels by the Collège des Bourgmestres et Echevins of Woluwe and the Association of the Mémoire de la Shoah. The event honored the “rafle” that occurred at the Gatti de Gamond boarding school, which took place on the same day eight decades ago. As a symbol of remembrance, a commemorative plaque was affixed to the building’s facade.

In a touching display of remembrance, children from various schools in Sint-Pieters-Woluwe and Molenbeek recounted the events of the raid in their own words and expressed their respect by placing flowers at the foot of the memorial plaque.
