Israeli President Isaac Herzog and First Lady Michal Herzog visited Vienna and meet with the local Jewish Community, including EJC President and former IKG President Dr. Ariel Muzicant.
The First Lady’s first stop was a visit to the ZPC school on the first day of school in the new school year. Together with the president of the cultural community, Oskar Deutsch, the Israeli ambassador, Mordechai Rodgold, and the president of the EJC, Ariel Muzicant, Michal Herzog presented merit scholarships to ten students of the upper secondary school AHS in the ZPC school.
Shortly afterwards, Michal Herzog visited the city temple accompanied by the former director of the Jewish Museum, Daniella Spera.
On September 5th, Isaac Herzog started his official visit to Austria with an exchange with representatives of the Jewish community in Austria.
At this meeting, the diversity of the community under the common umbrella of the religious communities became visible. Topics included: The Jewish present and future in Austria, the fight against antisemitism and the good relations between Austria and Israel.
On this occasion, the Israeli President also praised the Jewish community in Austria, which he described as one of the most important and fascinating communities in Europe with excellent infrastructure.
