The Ambassador of the State of Israel in Austria, Mordechai Rodgold, was awarded the “Great Golden Medal of Honor” by the Federal Association of Jewish Religious Communities in Austria. It marked the first time an Israeli ambassador received this prestigious award.
During his speech, IKG President Oskar Deutsch underscored the ambassador’s strong connections with the communities in Vienna and throughout Austria. He also highlighted the ambassador’s pivotal role in fostering the excellent relations between Austria and Israel.
In his commendation speech, Chief Rabbi Engelmayer traced Ambassador Rodgold’s journey, emphasizing his active involvement in the diverse community life over the past few years.
The award ceremony also served as a farewell, as Ambassador Rodgold and his wife, Céline, will be returning to their home in Jerusalem in the fall, concluding his term in Austria.
The musical performance featured soprano Hila Fahima, accompanied by pianist Anna Sushon.
