IKG President calls for criminal prosecution against hate preachers in Austria

After an Imam in Vienna incited hatred against Jews, IKG President Oskar Deutsch is calling for legal consequences.

The chairman of the mosque at the Schöpfwerk insulted “Zionists and their allies” on Facebook.

The Imam of the Assalam Mosque Mohamed EL S. wrote on January 17, 2024: “O Allah, defeat the Jews and support the Mujahideen who are fighting for Allah in Palestine.”

On January 5th he incited people with the words “Murder flows in their veins, they are the Jews! A disgusting people…”. And on January 9th he posted: “…oh Allah, please count them and kill them and leave none of them alive.”

“Here a man is calling for murder – and that in the name of Islam. The Islamic religious community should therefore publicly condemn the hate preacher’s statements and “We must ensure that he never preaches in Austrian mosques again” said Deutsch.

“The security authorities must do everything in their power to ensure that this imam and those around him do not pose any threat. I assume that this is already happening, as is the criminal prosecution by the judiciary. If the man is not an Austrian citizen If you are, you will be expelled.”
