(Brussels, July 24, 2023) – The European Jewish Congress expresses its sadness and concern with the current division in Israeli society arising out of the government’s judicial reform.
The debates around and today’s vote in the Knesset endanger the future of the State and create deep splits in Israeli society, which will have effects both on Israel itself and the Jewish world. We deeply regret the failure of any compromise.
As Jews and Zionists, our love for Israel is unconditional and our commitment to its security, democracy and people unwavering!
We call on the leaders of Israel to unify around the values of our one and only Jewish State.
