EJC stands in solidarity with Greece following devastating wildfires

The European Jewish Congress (EJC) stands in solidarity with Greece following the devastating wildfires that have raged across the Attica region and have tragically taken the lives of more than 80 people.

On behalf of 42 national Jewish communities in Europe, we mourn this tragic loss of life and extend our heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims.

Our prayers and thoughts are with the Greek people and we send our encouragement to those bravely engaged in search and rescue efforts.

In addition, the EJC has decided to make a donation of 10.000 Euro to the special bank account created by the Greek Government for the relief of the needs of the victims of the fire and the reconstruction of devastated areas.
