EJC praises efforts in Hungary to foster Jewish life and hopes they will remain a priority

(Brussels, 17 March 2026) – On the occasion of Hungary’s National Day, and while we are facing a huge surge in antisemitic attacks across Europe, the European Jewish Congress acknowledges Hungary’s unwavering commitment to the principle of zero tolerance towards antisemitism in all its forms.

Hungary has consistently upheld this principle, and it is essential that this stance remains firmly embedded and applied across all areas of public policy.

The EJC expects all political actors in Hungary to clearly and unequivocally distance themselves from antisemitic expressions and acts, and to condemn all manifestations of antisemitism.
