EJC expresses support for Israel as it is being attacked

(Tuesday, 11 May 2021) – The European Jewish Congress (EJC) expresses its full solidarity with our brothers and sisters in Israel as the country continues to suffer rocket bombardment and attacks from Hamas terrorists.

“No country can allow violent attacks of this sort on its citizens and we stand fully behind the Israeli Government in its defensive actions to free itself from these ongoing threats,” EJC President Dr. Moshe Kantor said.

“In Jerusalem, no other rulers in history have allowed so much freedom of prayer for all peoples and religions as Israel. There should be backing and support for Israel within the international community and particularly from fellow democracies in Europe when this is threatened. Rioting, incitement and violence is not prayer and regardless of where it takes place, law enforcement authorities should be able to provide security and order for all,” Dr. Kantor added.
