EJC congratulates Charlotte Knobloch on the confirmation of her Presidency of Germany’s Jewish community

The European Jewish Congress warmly congratulates Charlotte Knobloch, after she was unanimously confirmed as president of the Central Council of Jews in Germany.

At the regular governing council meeting held in DŸsseldorf on Sunday, November 19th, Knobloch was confirmed as President for a four-year term, after she was elected its first female president, on June 7th, following the sudden death in April of the former president Paul Spiegel.

The council’s 120 delegates had met in Dusseldorf, Spiegel’s former home town, to pay hommage.

Charlotte Knobloch is also Vice-President of European Jewish Congress Executive.
