EJC condemns the desecration of Muslim Soldiers’ tombs in France

The European Jewish Congress firmly condemns the acts of vandalism that desecrated over 500 Muslim soldiers’ tombs near the town of Arras, France.

The defacing of tombs – especially those of combatants – is a despicable manifestation of racism that must be dealt with severely. Even more appalling is the fact that this is the third time that the Muslim section of the cemetery has been targeted in the last few years.

The European Jewish Congress stands in solidarity with the Muslim community in repudiating this hatred and in demanding that the perpetrators be brought to justice.
