Pierre Besnainou Meets Palestinian Leader Mahmoud Abbas

In Tunisia for the World Summit on the Information Society, European Jewish Congress President Pierre Besnainou met on November 17th with the Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, in the presence of the Palestinian Minister of Foreign Affairs Nabil Shaath, discussing Palestinian commitments to continue paving the way for peace talks with Israeli authorities.

Speaking for the affiliated European Jewish communities of the EJC, President Besnainou added that the European Jewish Congress is engaging the European Union to aid peace efforts in the region through political intervention with both parties in the region and significant economic assistance to Palestine.
