Mass Brussels Demonstration for the Release of Three Kidnapped Israeli Soldiers

The European Jewish Congress is co-organizing a Brussels demonstration on November 29th to call for the immediate release of three kidnapped Israeli soldiers, in a mass gathering in front of the headquarters of the European Union that will feature members of the three soldier’s families.

This demonstration, organized by the “International Committee for the Liberation of the Three Israeli Soldiers” which includes the EJC, CRIF and SIONA, will demand that UN Security Council Resolution 1701 be finally applied so that Gilad Shalit, kidnapped on June 25th, and Oudi Goldwasser and Eldad Regev, kidnapped on July 12th, may finally re-join their families.

These families have not yet received signs of life from their children, and will be joining the demonstration, which will take place:

Wednesday, 29 November 2006, at 14:00 in front of the Rond Point Schuman in Brussels

This demonstration was initiated by the organization SIONA, and its president Roger Pinto, who organized a mass demonstration in Tel Aviv this August bringing 60,000 people together to demand for the soldiers’ release.

The organizations in charge of this demonstration are SIONA, the European Jewish Congress and the Conseil Représentatif des Institutions Juives de France, with the participation of the FSJU, CCJ, B’nai Brith, WIZO, UEJF, UPJF, LIBI and the Coordination Committee of the Belgian Jewish Organsations.
