EJC takes part in the first 2026 meeting of the Working Group Against Antisemitism (WGAS) at the European Parliament

The European Jewish Congress, acting as Secretariat and as a member of the Advisory Board, took part in the first 2026 meeting of the Working Group against Antisemitism (WGAS), an informal cross-party group of Members of the European Parliament, where the agenda and priorities for 2026 were discussed.

During the meeting, WGAS members expressed concern over the rise in antisemitic attacks across the continent, stressing the need to enhance the security of Jewish communities, tackle extremism, and develop innovative approaches to engage wider audiences in the fight against antisemitism, particularly among young people and in educational settings.

Following the meeting, WGAS members issued a statement calling on European Union Member States to strengthen the protection of Jewish communities and to take urgent action against the normalisation of antisemitism in our societies amid increasing radicalisation.
