EJC Head of Projects and Diplomatic Affairs Maria Bagdasarova and Communications Manager Xavier Ruiz participated in the 11th National Community Directors’ Forum of the World Jewish Congress, held on 28-30 June in Amsterdam.
The two-day meeting brought together executive directors and senior professional leaders from Jewish communities in more than 50 countries. Hosted in partnership with the Organisation of Jewish Communities in the Netherlands (NIK), the Forum provided an important opportunity to exchange experiences, strengthen cooperation, and discuss the key challenges facing Jewish communities worldwide.
Discussions focused on the increasingly complex environment in which Jewish communities operate, including the rise of antisemitism, security concerns, violent extremism, online radicalisation, the impact of artificial intelligence and relations with governments and public institutions. Community leaders shared insights from their respective countries, highlighting both local realities and common challenges emerging across democratic societies.
The gathering also served as a platform to exchange best practices and explore practical approaches to strengthening community resilience, security and advocacy. The European Jewish Congress was pleased to contribute to these important discussions and to reinforce cooperation with Jewish communities and organisations from around the world. The Forum offered a valuable opportunity to strengthen professional ties across the Jewish communities network, and explore shared approaches to the challenges facing Jewish life in Europe and beyond.
