EJC meets with EU Foreign Policy Chief Javier Solana – calls for strong stance against Iran

EJC President Pierre Besnainou met in Brussels with Javier Solana, EU High Representative for Common Foreign and Security Policy, calling for the EU to take a stronger stance against the Iranian regime, on Monday, September 25th.

Solana updated the EJC on the advancement of EU-Iran talks, while the EJC expressed European Jews’ growing fear of the Iranian anti-Semitic regime.

Besnainou insisted to Solana that Iran has established a network that is committed to spreading instability in the region, through Syria and notably through Hezbollah.

“The European Union must do its utmost to ensure a resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, as this will weaken Iran’s attempt to uproot peace efforts by using the Palestinian cause as an excuse for leading a campaign against Israel and the West” he said.
