EJC leadership participates in WJC delegation marking the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau

EJC President Ariel Muzicant, alongside EJC Vice President Raya Kalenova and EJC Director of European Affairs Ariella Woitchik, took part in the World Jewish Congress delegation to mark the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration and death camp.

World Jewish Congress President Ronald S. Lauder delivered a poignant and emotional speech, emphasising the enduring relevance of the Holocaust’s lessons.

Tova Friedman, an Auschwitz survivor, gave a powerful address recounting her terrifying experiences as a Jewish child hiding from the Nazis and her miraculous survival. She reflected on the resilience of the Jewish people since the Holocaust.

The EJC delegation also participated in the #WeRemember campaign for International Holocaust Remembrance Day.
