The European Jewish Congress hosted a Hanukkah reception in its Brussels office.
Representatives of Jewish organisations, the Belgian Jewish community, journalists, and EU lawmakers gathered in a warm atmosphere to mark this special occasion and strengthen their bonds of friendship and cooperation with the EJC.
Raya Kalenova, Executive Vice-President and CEO of the EJC, welcomed the guests and highlighted that “Hannukah is a time for Jewish communities to come together and reflect on the importance of unity, faith, and the indomitable spirit of the Jewish people”. She also read Hanukkah greetings to the participants from EJC-affiliated communities.
Former and current Presidents of the Coordinating Committee of Belgian Jewish Organisations (CCOJB), along with the President of the European Union of Jewish Students (EUJS), were invited to light the Hanukkah candles, conveying a message of solidarity during these challenging times.
