EJC Executive Vice-President meets with leaders of the Federation of Jewish Communities in Hungary

In the framework of the 6th meeting of the Working Group on the implementation of the EU strategy for combating antisemitism, which took place in Budapest, EJC Executive Vice-President Raya Kalenova engaged in a productive meeting with the leadership of the Federation of Jewish Communities in Hungary (MAZSIHISZ).

A meeting of the MAZSIHISZ board, which included the community’s Vice-Presidents and its Chief Rabbi, was organised to honour the presence of the EJC Executive Vice-President Ms Raya Kalenova. The discussions focused on the current challenges faced by European Jewish communities, with a particular emphasis on the unique realities and concerns of Hungarian Jews. Key topics included rising antisemitism, community security, and the importance of preserving Jewish heritage in Hungary.

This meeting highlighted the ongoing and close cooperation between the European Jewish Congress and its Hungarian affiliate, fostering dialogue and collaboration to address the pressing issues facing European Jews.
