EJC President meets senior member of the Russian presidential administration

The press office of European Jewish Congress President Viatcheslav Moshe Kantor reported that he met with a senior member of the Russian presidential administration on June 3, 2010.

Following the talks, which touched on a broad range of international issues, the press office stated that Mr. Kantor acknowledges the respectful stance taken by leading European governments not to allow the importation of the Middle East conflict into Europe and not to tolerate any expression of racism and anti-Semitism. This remains their permanent position despite tensions surrounding the cargo bound for the Gaza Strip and the existence of contradictory and emotionally overheated assessments of the conflict.

During Mr. Kantor’s meeting with the senior member of the presidential administration, both parties expressed their desire for securing peace and making positive progress in the Middle East and around the world
