Israel’s Diaspora Ministry to be renamed for fighting antisemitism

Israel Diaspora Affairs Ministry will change its name to Diaspora Affairs and Combat Antisemitism Ministry. Incoming Minister Amichai Chikli said that the new government "managed to unite various departments dealing with antisemitism and the fight against the delegitimization of Israel under one roof".

Isaac Herzog becomes first Israeli president to visit Bahrain

Israeli President Isaac Herzog visited Bahrain on the first trip by an Israeli head of state to the Gulf kingdom, following the normalisation of relations in 2020. Herzog met with King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa and Crown Prince Sheikh Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa.

Israel approves funds to record Holocaust survivors’ testimonies for the future

Israel’s government approved allocating NIS 3.5 million ($1 million) toward recording video testimonies of Holocaust survivors for future generations. The funding will go toward creating recordings of survivors from Israel and around the world.

Azerbaijan to open Embassy in Israel

Azerbaijan is set to become the first Shi’ite Muslim-majority state to open an embassy in Israel, following parliamentary approval. The new embassy will be in Tel Aviv, where the country already has a Tourism Office and a Trade Representative Office.
