EJC President Dr Moshe Kantor participates in the 75th anniversary of the Claims Conference in New York

Their meeting was an opportunity to reflect on their shared journey and the enduring partnership between the European Jewish Congress and B’nai B’rith International.

European Jewish Congress Policy Officer Dylan Bokler and SACC by EJC Head of Research and Analysis Yael Landman participated in the meeting which organised by the European Commission and the Federal Chancellery of the Republic of Austria.

EJC Head of Projects and Diplomatic Affairs Maria Bagdasarova and Communications Manager Xavier Ruiz participated in the 11th National Community Directors’ Forum of the World Jewish Congress.

Hosted by WGAS Chair MEP Alice Teodorescu Måwe, the event shed light on the rise of anti-Zionism as a form of hate speech in Europe and explored how criticism of Israel has increasingly become a disguise for antisemitism, as well as its impact on those who have had the courage to speak out.

During the discussions, EJC Executive Vice-President Raya Kalenova stressed the importance of public authorities speaking out more forcefully against antisemitism in all its forms, including when it disguises itself as anti-Zionism.

The European Jewish Congress, acting as Secretariat and as a member of the Advisory Board, took part in the first 2026 meeting of the Working Group against Antisemitism (WGAS), an informal cross-party group of Members of the European Parliament, where the agenda and priorities for 2026 were discussed.

EJC Policy Officer Dylan Bokler attended the conference, which provided a platform for analysing the dramatic rise of antisemitism worldwide and emphasised the need to strengthen cooperation between OSCE participating States and civil society actors.

Over 400 people, including 20 permanent representatives to the EU and bilateral ambassadors, members of the European Parliament, high-level EU officials, journalists, and representatives of international and Belgian Jewish organisations, gathered to mark International Holocaust Remembrance Day and commemorate eight decades since the Nuremberg trials.

European Jewish Congress Executive Vice-President Raya Kalenova and Director of European Affairs Ariella Woitchik raised awareness of the urgent need to safeguard Jewish communities amid the normalisation of anti-Jewish hatred, with anti-Zionism being the main driver.

The European Jewish Congress partnered with the European Commission and the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the EU in organising the conference ‘Remembering the Past, Shaping the Future’, which included the testimony of Holocaust survivor Alfred Garwood.

Representatives from Jewish communities across Europe travelled to Belgium to discuss recent developments, exchange best practices, and address the opportunities and challenges ahead.
