The meeting was organised by the European Commission in cooperation with the Polish government under the framework of its Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

Dr Kantor expressed and reaffirmed the unwavering solidarity of European Jewish communities with the State of Israel during these challenging times.

The EJC held its General Assembly in Jerusalem, bringing together leaders from Jewish communities across Europe to elect the organisation’s leadership for the next mandate and discuss shared concerns.

The conference, funded by the European Union through the Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values Programme (CERV) as part of the “BADRI - Bringing Awareness, Dialogue, and Resilience Improvement” project, provided a unique opportunity to address the shared challenges faced by faith-based communities and explore collaborative solutions.

In her speech, she praised the remarkable work carried out by the CCOJB under the leadership of its President, Yves Oschinsky. She expressed her gratitude to the political representatives who delivered powerful messages in support of the Jewish community and welcomed the commitments made during the evening as a sign of hope for a new era for Belgian Jewish citizens.

EJC Director of European Affairs Ariella Woitchik spoke at the first plenary session of the forum, where she discussed the normalisation of antisemitism in civil society and the growing isolation felt by Jewish communities following the Hamas massacre of 7 October 2023.
