EJC holds presentation about UNESCO project on fighting antisemitism, intolerance and discrimination through education

EJC, EU heads to meet in Slovenia

The heads of the European Jewish Congress and European Union will discuss the Iranian nuclear threat and anti-Semitism. EJC meets Greek President and other high-level leadership

A series of high-level meetings were held in Greece on February 4, 2008. The meetings took place within the framework of the National Remembrance Day for Greek Jewish Martyrs of the Holocaust. EJC President Moshe Kantor, Secretary General Serge Cwajgenbaum and President of the Central Board of Jewish Communities in Greece Moise Constantinis met with Greek President H.E. Karolos Papoulias.

EJC President meets with Israeli Foreign Affairs Minister, Mayor of Jerusalem and Likud Chairman

EJC President Moshe Kantor and Secretary General Serge Cwajgenbaum attended the WJC Governing Board meeting in Jerusalem held on January 29, 2008. On that same day, the EJC, together with Shai Hermesh, President of the WJC Israeli Branch, met with Israeli Foreign Affairs Minister Tzipi Livni to discuss urgent issues facing Israel and international Jewry.

More than 160 Jewish communities and organisations across the globe urge UN to use IHRA Working Definition of Antisemitism in UN Action Plan

The letter demonstrates that the vast majority of those engaged in combating antisemitism and the Jewish communities worldwide who are its target find the IHRA definition not only helps fight antisemitism, but “can be used entirely consistently with fundamental human rights standards.”
