EJC co-organises conference with Israeli expert on sexual violence perpetrated by Hamas

The keynote speaker of the event was Professor Yifat Bitton, co-founder and chair of Tmura, The Israeli Center for Equality, and President of Achva Academic College of Science & Education in Israel, who engaged in a dialogue with Belgian MP Viviane Teitelbaum.

The European Jewish Congress organises press mission to Israel with journalists from across Europe

The objective of the mission was to offer journalists and press officers an in-depth and multidimensional perspective on the current situation in the country, enabling them to visit the places where the Hamas massacre took place, meet relatives of the victims and hostages taken to the Gaza Strip, and engage in discussions with high-level politicians and analysts.

EJC takes part in WGAS Board Meeting devoted to the surge of antisemitism in Europe since October 7

The European Jewish Congress (EJC) took part in a Board Meeting of the European Parliament Working Group against Antisemitism (WGAS) to discuss the ongoing increase in antisemitic incidents in Europe since October 7, following the start of the war between Israel and Hamas.

EJC solidarity mission to Israel

EJC President Dr Ariel Muzicant, together with European Jewish leaders and Austrian lawmakers, arrived in Israel on Sunday, October 29th, to express their full solidarity and unconditional support for the Jewish state in the wake of Hamas' brutal attacks. 

EJC organises public release of sky lanterns in Brussels to demand the immediate release of the hostages held by Hamas

The European Jewish Congress organised a public release of sky lanterns in Brussels to honour the more than 230 innocent hostages currently held in the Gaza Strip by Hamas, demanding their immediate and unconditional release. 

EJC holds Executive Meeting in Lisbon 

The European Jewish Congress held its Executive Meeting on 18-20 October 2023 in Lisbon, Portugal. The meeting was held in cooperation with EJC’s Portuguese affiliate, the Jewish Community of Lisbon (Comunidade Israelita de Lisboa), headed by David Joffe Botelho.

European Jewish Congress calls on EU and UN leaders to cease its one-sided Israel bashing that has direct consequences for Jews in Europe

“The constant flow of Israel-bashing by senior leaders in the EU and the UN with little to no criticism of Hamas terror is clearly the main contributory factor to huge growth in antisemitism recorded by all European Jewish communities since October 7 last year,” said EJC President Dr Ariel Muzicant.
